- Prangenberg`s livre d`artiste, Peer Gynt, is the elaboration in purely visual terms of the spirit of loss, error, and heroism that we know from Ibsen`s play, Peer Gynt. In this book Prangenberg alternates rectangular etchings colored by monotype with irregularly shaped black and white plates. The book has a narrative sense, and is as emotional and masterful in charting Prangenberg`s own vision as is the play in revealing Ibsen`s world. The only language in the book is an epigram drawn from Act V, Scene 6 of Peer Gynt.
